About Valley Decks
One trade, built for one valley
Valley Decks designs, permits and builds decks — and only decks — for homeowners across Boise and the Treasure Valley.
Why a deck specialist?
Most deck work in the Treasure Valley is done by remodelers, roofers and franchises who build a deck between other jobs. A deck looks simple and isn't: it's a structure outdoors year-round, hung off your house, carrying people, furniture and — here — snow. The details that decide whether it lasts twenty years are the ones nobody sees once the boards go down: footing depth, the ledger connection and its flashing, joist spacing for the board you chose, and how the railing posts are tied into the frame.
Focusing on decks means those details get the same attention on every job, and that we know the local rules cold. In Boise and Nampa a deck more than 12 inches above grade needs a building permit. Footings go to 24 inches for frost. Framing is designed for a 20 psf ground snow load. Foothills lots above Hill Road sit in Boise's wildfire overlay. Most HOAs want drawings and color samples before anything is built. We plan for all of it before the estimate, not after.
How we work
Every project starts with an on-site measure and a written estimate that names the materials, the permit path and the build window, so you can compare quotes line by line. Our build process walks through each step, and our cost guides show published Treasure Valley price ranges with their sources — not a number designed to get a foot in the door.
Where we build
We work across Boise & the Treasure Valley: Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Star, Kuna, Caldwell, Garden City and nearby towns. See every service area.
